A UK TV licence (£169.50 per year) is legally required to watch any live television on any channel through any service, and to watch or download anything on BBC iPlayer. You do not need a TV licence to watch on-demand content on ITVX, Channel 4, My5, or FAST channels — as long as you are not watching live broadcasts.
